Tuesday, August 7th, 1917: Yankees Second Baseman Injured
After injuring himself, Yankees second baseman Carson Bigbee headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after colliding with a player at a base and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Bigbee will miss at least 2 weeks with a fractured hand.

So far this season, Bigbee has recorded a .287 batting average with 102 hits, 1 home run, 79 RBIs, 65 runs scored and a .350 OBP.
Monday, August 6th, 1917: White Sox Blank Indians, Joss Wins
Addie Joss of the Chicago White Sox blanked Cleveland 2-0 on a 6-hit complete game shutout, striking out 1 batters and walking 1.

This year in 28 starts, Joss has recorded 9 wins and absorbed 15 losses. He has pitched 234 innings, allowed 238 hits, struck out 64 and has a 2.77 ERA.
